The Church Townhouse is situated halfway along Cathedral
Road on the same side as Sophia Gardens Park and is just a
few minutes from the castle and the main shopping centre. Those
wishing to walk have a choice of either going along Cathedral
Road, past the large turn-of-the century houses for which Cardiff
is noted, or walking through the park and down the river path
into town.
This walk affords views of the river with Bute Gardens on the far side, with the County Cricket grounds and National Sports Centre on the other. Those guests here for the major sporting events, will find that the Millennium Stadium is virtually on the Hotel doorstep.
By Car:
Leave M4 At J32 and head for the City Centre, pass Cardiff
Castle on the right, over the bridge and turn right at the
lights onto Cathedral Road where the Church Townhouse is
on the right.
Alternatively:
Leave M4 at J29 and follow A48(M) under the flyover, go straight
on at the lights at Tesco Extra, take first left (sign posted
City Centre/Llantrisant A4119), keep following signs for the
City Centre, turn left at traffic lights and the road leads
into Cathedral Road where the Church Townhouse is on the left.
By Train or Bus:
Leave Central Station turning left and walk over river bridge, left again follow embankment to the Queen St bridge, turn left towards traffic lights, and right into Cathedral Road, Hotel is on the right 200 yrds.
Taxi is 5-10 minutes
Walking (15-25 minutes):
Leave Central Station turning left onto Tudor Street and walk over River
Bridge, with the Millennium stadium on the right hand side. At Fitzhammon Embankment
turn right and continue along river until Castle Street (Stadium still on the
right). Turn Left onto Castle Street and then Right onto Cathedral Road, Church
Townhouse is on the Right approx. 200 yards along Cathedral Road.
